Crowding

This occurs when teeth start to fight for space. The teeth often overlap each other making them difficult to clean and also wear away at uneven rates.

Spacing

The opposite of crowding, spacing occurs when teeth have gaps between them. This can cause food to get stuck in between teeth.

Overjet

If your top teeth stick out over your bottom teeth, this is known as an overjet. It causes uneven wear and is one of the many common orthodontic problems we can fix.

Underbite

The opposite of an overjet, an underbite occurs when your bottom teeth stick out past your top teeth when you bite.

Overbite

The overbite is the the amount of lower teeth you can see when you bite together - when you cannot see much of your lower teeth, we call this a deep overbite. Excessive wear of the front teeth and damage to the gum tissues is commonly seen with deep overbites making them important to correct.

Crossbite

If one (or more) of your lower teeth sit outside your upper teeth, this is known as a crossbite. This often occurs along the side of your jaw but can also occur in your front teeth.
